PCM 1.20 + 1.43 Dual Dongle
— Detailed Protocol Overview
The PCM 1.20 + 1.43 Dual Dongle combines 16 new protocols with 68 legacy protocols, covering both newer and older vehicles. The new and old versions can be switched directly through a hardware switch, making operation much more convenient.
Below is a detailed overview of the 16 PCM 1.43 protocols, with a comparison to the legacy version to help you better understand the capabilities of PCM 1.43 5C “Mission Must Be Accomplished”.
1. Protocol 10 — Mazda 2012+
Designed for Mazda vehicles from 2012 onward, mainly covering Skyactiv engines and Denso ECUs. It supports direct OBD reading and writing of Flash data and includes automatic checksum correction. This protocol fills the gap in the legacy PCM version for newer Mazda vehicles that could not previously be read or written.
2. Protocol 12 — Honda CAN ECU
Supports Honda CAN-based ECU and transmission programming, including Keihin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, and Hitachi ECUs.
It covers models such as the Civic and many gasoline/hybrid vehicles produced after 2020. Older equipment may be unable to read these ECUs, or may support reading but not writing. Protocol 12 significantly expands read/write coverage.
3. Protocols 35, 49 & 95 — New Toyota Vehicles
These protocols cover newer Toyota vehicles, including Generation 1, Generation 2, and Generation 4 systems.
The legacy PCM version does not separately distinguish every generation because some support was already included. PCM 1.43 further expands compatibility.
Protocol 49 supports genuine read/write operations for ECUs using 76F0196, 76F0198, and 76F0199 chips.
Protocol 95 supports many 4th-generation Toyota systems, including numerous hybrid models through 2026.
4. Protocol 51 — Chinese Gasoline Vehicles
Protocol 51 covers a wide range of Chinese gasoline vehicles using ECUs from brands such as Bosch and Delphi, including ME17.8.8, MT22, MT62, MT92, MT95, and other ECU types.
It provides extensive coverage across many Chinese vehicle brands and is designed for a broad range of ECU read/write applications.
5. Protocol 59 — Nissan / Infiniti / Renault
Protocol 59 expands support for Nissan, Infiniti, and Renault vehicles, including many vehicles produced after 2020.
It covers engines including 1.2T, 1.8T, 2.0T, and other applications.
PCM 1.43 therefore adds significant coverage for newer Japanese vehicles while the legacy PCM version continues to handle older applications.
6. Protocol 81 — Jaguar Land Rover TCU
Supports Jaguar Land Rover transmissions, including ZF 6-speed, 8-speed, and 9-speed transmissions.
It also supports AWF21 data tuning and cloning functions.
7. Protocol 85 — Ford TCU
Designed for Ford transmission applications, including systems such as 6HP, 5R110, and 6RXX.
This protocol expands the transmission read/write capabilities compared with the legacy PCM version.
8. Protocol 86 — Chinese Vehicle TCU
Supports transmission Flash reading and data tuning for Chinese vehicles from brands including Changan, Geely, Great Wall, FAW, SAIC, and others.
This protocol provides transmission programming functions that are not available on many other devices.
9. Protocol 89 — MG1 ECU
Supports OBD-based Flash read/write for MG1 UA008 ECUs used in Chinese vehicles.
It is suitable for applications such as performance tuning and DTC-related functions, depending on the ECU and vehicle application.
10. Protocol 90 — Chinese Diesel ECUs
Designed for Chinese diesel vehicles using Delphi DCM engine ECUs, including:
* DCM6.2
* DCM7.1
* DCM7.24
Both Flash and EP data can be supported, providing broader application coverage for diesel ECU programming.
11. Protocol 92 — Bosch MG1 / MD1
Protocol 92 focuses on Bosch MG1 and MD1 ECUs. Non-encrypted ECUs with supported MG1 or MD1 models can be read and written.
It supports not only Flash data, but also EP data.
These ECUs are widely used in vehicles produced after 2020, including applications from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Land Rover, and other manufacturers. This protocol provides extensive coverage across a large number of vehicle applications.
12. Protocol 94 — Aisin Transmission
Designed primarily for vehicles equipped with Aisin transmissions, which are widely used by Japanese and some Chinese vehicle manufacturers.
It supports functions such as data tuning and cloning, helping reduce the difficulty of transmission programming and online programming procedures.
13. Protocol 97 — Chinese ECU
Mainly designed for Chinese vehicles using Aoyix or Lingdian engine ECUs, supporting Flash data read/write operations.
14. Protocol 98 — Chinese Continental ECU
Designed for Chinese vehicles using Continental ECUs, including certain locally produced systems used by vehicles under the General Motors group.
It supports ECU Flash data read/write operations.

Full PCM 1.20 + 1.43 Coverage
All 16 new protocols are now covered by PCM 1.43, while 68 legacy protocols from PCM 1.20 remain available.
With a simple hardware switch, users can switch between the new and legacy versions without the need for an additional external dongle.
This combination provides:
* 16 New Protocols
* 68 Legacy Protocols
* Wide New & Old Vehicle Coverage
* ECU & TCU Read/Write
* Data Tuning
* Cloning & Backup
* Fault Repair
* DTC Functions
* Hardware Version Switching
* No External Dongle Required
* No Annual Subscription Fee
* Lifetime Use
The combination of PCM 1.20 + 1.43 is designed to provide broader vehicle coverage while keeping operation simple and convenient.
Virtual Machine Setup
Some users may have questions about the virtual machine.
The concept is actually simple: a virtual machine allows you to install another Windows 10 environment on your existing computer, essentially creating a separate system environment.
This setup helps reduce potential conflicts between different software versions and minimizes the risk of accidental upgrades or software compatibility issues. The purpose is to provide a more stable operating environment without significantly affecting normal use.
Professional Technical Support
For PCM 1.43 5C “Mission Must Be Accomplished” versions with laser engraving, our technical support is backed by 20 years of experience in engine and transmission ECU/TCU read/write and programming equipment.
We focus on professional automotive programming solutions and provide technical assistance to help users operate the equipment more efficiently.
Important Purchasing Advice
When purchasing automotive programming equipment, do not judge a device only by its price.
A higher price does not necessarily mean more functions, and a lower price does not necessarily mean better value. Vehicle coverage, supported protocols, software compatibility, technical support, and after-sales service are all important factors.
